Many employees are exposed to chemicals within the workplace due to the type of work or industry that is involved. Chemicals can come in the form of vapours, liquids or solids and may be used as part of production processes or be related to workplace cleaning. As part of an overall chemical management plan within the workplace, employees may need to use protective aids or clothing to reduce the impact of these chemicals on their health.
There are ways to manage exposure to chemicals including use of a variety of products that have fewer chemicals or don’t pose as greater health risk for those exposed to them.
