Grammar checking software

When composing text based documents, grammar checking software can check that the grammar and sentence structure is appropriate.

Workplace solutions and adjustments

Individuals who experience difficulty composing documents or determining if documents have the correct sentence structure, can benefit from using grammar checking software. Some word processing software, including Microsoft Windows Office, has inbuilt programs which can be set to run automatically or when activated by the user to analyse the text, check for possible problems and possibly offer suggestions or options for change. Some customisation of the grammar styles is possible.

For individuals with conditions such as dyslexia, comprehensive grammar checking software programmes can be purchased and installed which have a range of features including speaking dictionaries, word predicting capacity and thesauruses which include the meanings of words to assist with composing and proof reading documents. This software can also include customisation of screen rulers and colour schemes to assist with reading the screen. Some versions have the added capacity of being able to store a users individual preferences and settings on a portable USB drive so it can be used on multiple computers or locations.
