Being able to use a kettle to make hot drinks or soup is an important part of maintaining independence within the workplace. For individuals that have difficulty supporting the weight of a kettle, a kettle rocking device in which corded kettles can sit and once boiled, can be tipped without having to lift or support the weight can be used.
Workplace solutions and adjustments
For individuals with limited hand or upper limb strength, poor grip strength, tremors, uncontrolled movements or visual impairment a kettle rocker can support the weight of a kettle and provide direction whilst pouring hot beverages at work.
The kettle rocker reduces the spillage risk of boiling water as it allows a cup to be placed directly under the spout and requires minimal gross upper limb movement to operate. Therefore overall safety is improved, along with allowing individuals to independently make morning and afternoon tea or lunch within the workplace.
