If a person is able to bear some of their own weight for a short amount of time, there are various products to support them as they move from place to place. There also products available for those who are unable weightbear and require the assistance of carers to perform transfers using specialised equipment.
Workplace solutions and adjustments
Transfers aids can assist with moving between two surfaces such as wheelchair to chair, wheelchair to bath, bed or toilet. Transfer aids can also assist with transferring into and out of a vehicle. As with any equipment used to assist with moving, careful professional assessment of the individual situation is required, to ensure that the most suitable transfer method and equipment is used.
