A registered occupational therapist is qualified to identify the effects of a person’s environment and functional limitations on their ability to perform day-to-day tasks and activities. The word ‘occupation’ refers to daily tasks and activities rather than to ‘jobs’ or ‘careers’.
Occupational therapy assessments commonly involve specific, graded activities that help a person restore, develop or maintain certain skills.
