Auslan interpreting and co-worker training

When you employ new staff, the right person for the job might be someone who uses Auslan (Australian Sign Language) to communicate. 

There is funding available for Auslan interpreting services in the workplace through the Employment Assistance Fund.  

How will the Employment Assistance Fund help me?

As an employer, you may be eligible for financial assistance through the Employment Assistance Fund to help with the cost of Auslan interpreting services for Deaf employees. You may also be eligible to have staff members who work with a Deaf employee trained in Auslan and undertake Deaf awareness training.

There are a range of work related modifications, equipment and services available through the Employment Assistance Fund to assist eligible employees with disability.
