There is funding available for Auslan interpreting services in the workplace through the Employment Assistance Fund.
How will the Employment Assistance Fund help me?
The Employment Assistance Fund can help cover the cost of Auslan interpreting services (including remote interpreting and real time captioning) for Deaf employees. Assistance is available for any work related activity that the employer deems appropriate.
Auslan interpreting services may also be available for job interviews including the completion of tests and participation in information sessions provided by prospective employers. Staff members who work with a Deaf employee may also be eligible to undertake Auslan course studies and Deaf awareness training.
There are a range of work related modifications, equipment and services available through the Employment Assistance Fund to assist eligible employees with disability.
