JobAccess was awarded as a finalist at the annual Zero Project Conference held at the United Nations in Vienna on 23 February 2017.
The Zero Project is an initiative of the Essl Foundation (an Austrian charitable foundation), which supports the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and focuses on the rights of persons with disabilities globally. It provides a platform where the most innovative and effective solutions to barriers that people with disability face, are shared. Its sole objective is to assist in creating a world without barriers.
The Zero Project hosts an annual conference, where organisations responsible for the development of innovative Policies & Practices present their solutions to their peers involved in the world of disability, including stakeholders, government ministers and other key influencers.
JobAccess was selected by a panel of international experts as a ‘Zero Project Innovative Policy 2017’ – in the category of Innovative Policies advancing Employment of Persons with Disabilities. This award formally recognises the success and innovation of the JobAccess Service, managing 245,000 enquiries, 33,000 applications through the Employment Assistance Fund, and creating 2,500 job opportunities through the National Disability Recruitment Coordinator function.
