DES Quality Framework

The Australian Government has announced a new Disability Employment Services (DES) Quality Framework (Framework) which will be in place July 2023. The new Framework Is designed to ensure the delivery of high quality, tailored services for people with disability. It will ensure providers are listening and responding to the needs of individuals and employers to drive meaningful and sustained quality improvement.

The Framework will be in place from July 2023 with a phased implementation over the second half of 2023.

The Department consulted with the sector and other stakeholders to inform the Framework. A Discussion Paper released in December 2023 and a series of targeted consultation workshops held in June provided important feedback. A summary of feedback for these consultations is available.

The Department will continue to consult with the disability employment sector and DES participants to develop and pilot the measures and tools to support the assessment under the Framework.
