JobAccess wins Zero Project Award 2025 for innovative approach to disability employment

Sydney, 3 December 2024: Zero Project has announced JobAccess as a 2025 awardee. The program has won for its innovative approach to improving disability employment outcomes.

The Zero Project is an Essl Foundation initiative. It supports the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The Zero Project researches solutions to remove barriers for people with disability. Its 2025 research cycle focuses on inclusive employment, and information and communication technology.

The Zero Project recognised JobAccess as an easy-to-use, one-stop service offering comprehensive advice. The service has been awarded following an extensive peer review process. The review focused on innovation, impact, and scalability of the service.

JobAccess is the national hub for disability employment information which helps people with disability, employers, and service providers with advice and information. WorkFocus deliver JobAccess services on behalf of the Australian Government.

Since 2006, JobAccess has supported 500,000+ enquiries through its national advice line. It also provides tailored advice and solutions for workplace adjustments. JobAccess can fund these adjustments through the Employment Assistance Fund (EAF). It has managed over 70,000 funding applications over the past 18 years.

Additionally, JobAccess’ employer engagement team works with employers. They help make policies and procedures disability inclusive. Since 2010, the team has partnered with 430+ public and private organisations.

JobAccess was created to enable sustainable employment for people with disability. It has helped Australians with disability to get work, keep work, and progress in their careers. We are grateful for the chance to share our learnings with global peers through the Zero Project.”

This year’s selection process took over 300 hours of review. It involved more than 350 experts, both with and without disability, from around the world. Zero Project 2025 has recognised 77 innovative solutions from 45 countries.
