Organising a sign language interpreter for an interview
If you are deaf, you may require an Auslan (Australian Sign Language) interpreter to be present at your interview. Your disability employment service (DES) provider can help you organise this.
If you are deaf and do not have a DES provider, you may be eligible to obtain funding for an Auslan interpreter through the Employment Assistance Fund.
Interpreters typically need to be booked for a minimum of two hours. Interpreting work that lasts for more than an hour, or is particularly intense, usually requires a team of two interpreters.
