Through Nexus Human Services’ vast range of tailored offerings, we have helped many job seekers to find and maintain suitable employment. The Cultural backgrounds, mental health, length of unemployment along with levels of disability are all factors that must be considered when working towards a successful employment placement. It is through our experienced team and vast experience in working with job seekers of all types that has seen Nexus achieve success after success for both job seekers and employers. When working with the Nexus team, job seekers are helped to establish what type of support will best suit their needs. The Job seekers will also have access to Nexus Bounce portal. Our unique Bounce portal provides a rich experience for our job seekers to grow and develop their confidence and skills towards thriving in a job and life. Having a job seeker prepared for employment is more than just simply filling an available role. This is why Nexus Human Services actively complete a positive profiling assessment of all job seeker clients. This allows us to gain a deep understanding of their skills and abilities. Based on this detailed assessment we then find a perfect fit with a suitable employer. An employee commencing employment is not the end of Nexus’s involvement with either the candidate or employer. The team at Nexus continually support both the participant and employer to ensure success for both parties. Nexus provide ongoing information to employers regarding industry updates and any changes to employment pay rates and conditions. To ensure a smooth transition into employment Nexus offer employers and co-workers disability awareness training at no cost to the business. We also provide employers tools to assist with employing a person with a disability along with the wage subsidy packages. This allows businesses to focus on what they do best while having peace of mind that they are up to date with all the required information and employment practices. We are passionate about assisting employers to create inclusive workplaces. Our recruitment and support services are offered to employers at no charge, allowing us to provide employers and participants specific employment solutions. This service include but not limited to on-boarding, advertising and promotions, subsidy funds , job design and work place adjustments.The Continued upskilling and training is also provided to participants on an ongoing basis to ensure employees continue to be the best fit for the role in a changing business environment
Our networks
With over twenty-five years in the disability sector, close connections have been formed with networks and other organisations to provide support to our participants in a wide range of areas. Connections with various registered training organisations, training providers and apprenticeship providers have allowed our participants to gain skills, qualifications and licences appropriate to various employer’s needs while keeping up to date with the requirements of the local labour market. Our links with various community organisations allows, where necessary, non-vocational interventions such as youth services, specialist health services and drug and alcohol counselling should the need arise. Though our connections with a range of job preparation services, things such as interview training, resume writing and financial assistance for job preparation are provided to assist our participants. Nexus Human Services is also well established in the local business community through our membership of the Business Chambers

With our specialisation in provided disability employment services spaning over more than twenty five years, we have developed innovative and effective ways to deliver successful outcomes to local communities. All Nexus Human Services staff have a deep understanding of the participants that are being assisted and have the relevant qualifications in Employment Services, Mental Health First Aid and Suicide intervention. We also work closely with our partners from Strategic Psychology to continuously develop and gain additional training in dealing with challenging situations.
Clients ranging in diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences are a specialty of Nexus Human Services with 6.7% of jobseekers being Indigenous. 13.3% are from a CALD background, 70.4% have a mental illness, 10.4% are youth, 22.2% are mature age, 3% are single parents and 0.7% require an interpreter.
In addition to this 5% of jobseekers require an apprenticeship on average, 7% require training at Cert 2 and above, 24% require assistance with short term training or tickets, 8% require assistance through LLNP, 18% require assistance with homelessness issues and just 7% of jobseekers are deemed to be job ready.
