Our job seekers

Global Skills is dedicated to work alongside you to meet your individual needs. Your Employment Consultant will support you to address any concerns you have preventing or keeping a job. Your choice and plans are the center of everything we provide. We will link you in with our extensive network of local community and health services, provide access to our in-house Psychologists, Indigenous services and services for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse job seekers. We will assist you access vocational skills training to meet the needs of particular employers or your job choice. You will have daily access to our full time Employment Centre in each office with resources such as computers, internet, Wi-Fi, phones, newspapers, job search coaching groups, employability skills programs including interview and work preparation as well as in-house conversational English groups and Indigenous Job Search Groups. Global Skills has an extensive network of employers from small to large employers to identify and create job opportunities for our job seekers and to help employers to find the right staff for their businesses. Global Skills has a highly experienced marketing team who will also increase your connection to jobs. Global Skills staff come from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds, including multi-lingual and Indigenous staff.

Our employers

Global Skills offers a free recruitment and workforce retention services to businesses – A central point of contact to provide your business with responsive, open and regular communication about your recruitment needs. Global Skills will tailor and coordinate recruitment services to meet your workforce needs. We will work in partnership to assist you through each step of the recruitment process where support is required, including job descriptions, screening candidates to a selection criteria, shortlisting candidates, coordinating interviews and arranging any pre-employment checks that you may require. We provide you with access to our facilities to support recruitment such as interviews, inductions, workforce planning, and workplace support. Your business will also have access to our Global Skills Employment Hotline which operates between 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday managed by an experienced team to assist with any workplace needs you may have. We will provide advice of Government funded subsidies and assistance, including support of workplace modifications for people who need workplace support needs. The support to your business will continue after recruitment with the offer of tailored workplace support, including workplace visits, interventions on/off site, and our specialist Workplace Retention Team to support your newly recruited staff in their workplace.

Global Skills has been operating in Greater Western Sydney since 1990. Our consistent and high performance has allowed us to grow through contract extensions and awards of extra business. We consistently achieve excellent results for job seekers from all backgrounds. We are particularly proud of our outstanding achievements in our Disability Employment Service and our Indigenous Specialist Contracts where we are considered to be one of the strongest performers in Australia. Our success is based on the highest standards of customer service and provision of quality support to employers and job seekers. Our view is that all job seekers have the ability to make a valuable contribution to society and we are dedicated to the realisation of this goal. Secondly, we hire staff with a passion for people. We have hired former professionals, tradesmen, mental health specialists, a range of both younger and older staff, and of course staff with different cultural backgrounds including Indigenous, Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, Arabic and many more. Our staff receive quality training enabling them to provide the support that our job seekers and employers deserve. Additionally, our senior management team has over 100 years of combined experience in the industry. The calibre of our staff has been recognised at a national level. About us

Global Skills was established in 1990 to provide job seekers with quality training and employment support services across Greater Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains region. With over 20 years’ experience Global Skills has quickly and successfully built a reputation as a strong performing employment service provider across our 3 core services including Job Services Australia (JSA Generalist and Aboriginal Specialist), Disability Employment Services (ESS and DMS Program). We pride ourselves on being able to assist job seekers and employers in meeting their goals through the provision of quality services, support and career advice. Global Skills staff come from a range of cultural and socio economic backgrounds and many have a second language such as Arabic, Hindi, Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese. All of our staff live and work in Western Sydney, South Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains and have an intimate knowledge of the needs and challenges facing job seekers and employers in our community. Through our highly experienced team and extensive community contacts we have been able to help thousands of job seekers and employers achieve their goals over the years.
