Our job seekers
As a job seeker receiving Workforce Australia services from BEST Employment, we will work with you to access what you need to find and keep a job. You can expect to receive an individual service, work preparation, active job search support and assistance to support you after gaining a job.
BEST Employment services will include;

A Job Coach will work with you, both individually and in teams to assist you gain full-time ongoing work.

Your Job Coach and our Employer Specialist will support you to actively seek employment, promote your skills and work with you to find vacancies that are not advertised.

The way we contact you may include a combination of text messages, email, telephone or face to face interviews. When and how we contact you will depend on your individual needs (for example, interviews during school hours for parents).

One month before you take part in your Annual Activity, we will provide a workshop where you will receive all the information you need to select an activity that is right for you.

You will be able to participate in a series of work preparation sessions over a 12 week period which may also include work experience.

We will provide you with access to a range of self-help facilities through BEST Access Centres. These include vacancy lists, computers, printers and internet access.

Depending on your eligibility, we may assist you to access work related assistance via purchases through the Australian Government Employment Fund. Assistance may include transport, relocation assistance, work trials and training.

We will help you access additional assistance when needed. This may include counselling, youth services, housing or family support.

As an Employer, regardless of the size of your business, BEST is committed to working with you to meet your individual recruitment needs. You can expect personalised recruitment services, candidate preparation, post recruitment support and access to other initiatives.
BEST Employment will achieve this by;

A local Employer Specialist will contact you to build a profile of your business. This will allow us to get to know your business so that we can effectively match job seekers to the qualities and skills required by you.

Tailoring Employer packs to your business. Information on support such as apprenticeships, wage subsides, the Employment Fund, and Training for Employment Scholarships will be included in the packs.

Using our job seeker database and network of offices to promote your vacancies.

Offer pre-screening services including employability skills testing, referee checks, medical or working with children checks and short-listing.

Providing you with access to our facilities to conduct face to face or online interviews with job seekers.

Market individual job seekers to you if we feel their qualities and skills are a good fit with your business.

Using the Australian Government’s Employment Fund to target training around those skills identified by you as critical for your business. Such as safe food handling, RSA, RCG, WHS, customer service or industry specific preparation.

Working with registered training organisations to develop training that meets your requirements.

Designing, developing and evaluating a range of pre-employment programmes. Programmes will incorporate workshops on personal qualities, employer expectations and interview techniques.
Our networks
BEST Employment recognises that sustainable and high quality outcomes are more likely to be achieved through collaborations within our networks. Our networks include (but are by no means limited to) other Workforce Australia organisations, job seekers, Work for the Dole Coordinators, employers, community organisations, Harvest Labour providers, allied health professionals, Apprenticeship Access Centres, Chambers of Commerce and registered training organisations.
BEST Employment will;

Maintain a comprehensive listing of local support services and contacts. We will monitor local media and attend interagency forums to identify, link with and network with local support services including child care, housing, youth, allied health, probation and parole providers.

Use company initiatives such as our ‘BEST in the Community’ Programme, which provides funding for groups that assist disadvantaged people, to forge relationships with other not for profit organisations.

Invite other support services to make presentations to job seekers, promote their services and use Access Centre resources to work with, or engage mutual clients.

Initiate and participate in regular meetings with Work for the Dole Coordinators and other organisations to identify and develop joint projects including: Work for the Dole activities, recruitment or advertising campaigns; training; and industry based work preparation activities relevant to our regions.

Collaborate with out of area organisations to ensure job seekers who relocate to commence employment are supported.

Work with community groups to establish a broad range of Work for the Dole activities that support community needs.

BEST Employment Job Coaches work closely with job seekers to help overcome barriers to employment, gain skills through work and training, and prepare them for sustainable employment.
