Our job seekers

We are the only Autism specific Employment Services provider in Australia. The success of our program is underpinned by the specialist knowledge of staff and our holistic approach. We are achieving job placement rates which exceed the national average and we having been working with people with Autism across the lifespan for over 20 years. In addition to the employment program we also have a range of other services to assist people to achieve a better quality of life including community support, early intervention, community living and professional services. When meeting job seekers for the first time, we attempt to get to know you, and develop a plan which addresses any barriers you may experience to access employment, and to ascertain the type of work you aspire to, and the ideal environment in which you are most likely to succeed. Most job seekers prefer to access our services at our head office in Shenton Park, regardless of where they live, however we also have an outreach site in Seville Grove, by appointment. If you prefer we will also conduct the initial meetings in your own home, if that is more convenient for you. We are currently enjoying an excellent success rate in employment placements, and the majority of our participants are still in employment after 12 months. We provide ongoing on-the-job support to those who need it, and have developed some innovative and creative 'workplace' solutions to assist those with complex needs.

Our employers

We have partnered with a wide range of employers and assist employers with all aspects of the recruitment process, including co-worker training, information about incentives, job breakdown, and ongoing support to the employer and the job seeker. The following are statements made by some of the employers we are currently partnered with: "we started employing one person with Autism and based on this success now employ 8 people with Autism. They have been with us since July 2010 and we have found them to be hard working and reliable" "The Autism Association have always been approachable when problems arise and work with us to create effective solutions as well as being happy to answer any questions about Autism" "As a small family owned printing company we value the support that the Autism Association provide in terms of training and performance monitoring as well as employee administration" "without the support of the Autism Association we would not have had the experience or expertise to successfully hire workers with autism" "In the twelve months since we started this partnership with the Autism Association we have seen the amalgamation of people with disability into the general workforce, with good working relationships being built up between the colleagues" "We greatly appreciate the support that the Autism Association has given us over the years" "I would have no hesitation in continuing to employ job seekers through the Autism Association in suitable positions, or in recommending them to other employers."
