Australian Government support to develop your employment skills

The Australian Government provides national programs to help people with disability develop basic skills, engage in formal training and education, and move from study into work. The government also offers websites to help all Australians develop their careers. These websites include:

Skills for Education and Employment

This information located at the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) website https://www.dewr.gov.au/skills-education-and-employment could help improve your speaking, reading, writing, basic maths or computer skills. If you enrol in this program, you may be eligible for an extra payment if you are currently receiving the Disability Support Pension, Jobseeker Payment, Parenting Payment, or Youth Allowance. For more information, speak to your Disability Employment Services (DES) provider or visit the Services Australia website.

Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training

The Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET) is Australia’s leading resource on disability in tertiary education for disability practitioners, educators, and students. For more information, visit the ADCET website.
